Mayor of Leominster - Cllr Trish Marsh
The Mayor is elected by the Full Council at the Annual Town Council meeting each May. A Deputy Town Mayor is also elected.
Being the Mayor is different to being a Councillor. A Mayor, by virtue of the Office, can stimulate community pride, encourage business, promote the voluntary sector etc and represent the Council at civic events.
The Mayor is the public face of the Council and with this in mind the Mayor needs to portray a genuine interest in those they meets, show enthusiasm and commitment to the role and always be mindful of the dignity of the office.
Cllr Trish Marsh –
“I am proud to be your Mayor of Leominster for 2022/23. We have now lived here over 30 years and are proud to call Leominster home.
This is my second term as a Leominster Town Councillor. I am much enjoying seeing the council grow in size and influence, increasing its services and value to residents over the last few years.
Residents are welcome to attend our town council meetings, which are listed on our website. Agendas of the upcoming meetings are also on the website and posted at the Tourist Information Centre, 11 Corn Square and Etnam Street Car Park notice boards.
My charity is CPRE Herefordshire for their campaigning and Citizen Science work on the River Lugg.
The river through our town and is protected for its nature conservation value. It has for some time exceeded its phosphates targets, threatening the reasons for which it is designated of European importance and halting construction locally.
In past lives I have been Chair of Leominster Festival, a qualified Executive Coach and a Chartered Environmentalist working for Herefordshire Council on sustainability issues.
I also represent Leominster South as ward councillor on Herefordshire Council: I serve on the Pensions Board and am Vice Chair of Herefordshire’s new Environment and Sustainability Scrutiny committee.”
How to invite the Mayor
The Mayor attends a range of events throughout their Mayoral term – if you would like to invite Councillor Marsh to an event please contact us.
You will be advised whether the Mayor is able to attend or not; if they have a prior engagement the Deputy Mayor will be asked to attend as the Council’s representative.
